Departure with our poles to Vernonnet. Moderator M.José – Greenhouse: Xavier.
After a stop on the Clemenceau Bridge to admire the beautiful view of the old mill and the Chateau des Tourelles, a little historical in the Park, on the site of the Seine in Vernon. Then bucolic ride along an arm of the Seine or Claude Monet loved to walk on foot in his “Boat Workshop” to paint the banks of the Seine.
We then climbed one of the slopes of Vernonnet where we had a picnic in the sun with a nice view of the Seine.
Then, we continue our walk on a pleasant path, at the edge of the wood with always this magnificent view on the meanders of the river.
We went back to Vernonnet.
– Change of role of the animators. It’s Xavier, this time, who is the guide and I am holding him tightly.
On the way to the Vernon Forest and the direction of the quarries and its famous Pierre de Vernon.
The rain this time accompanies us.
After a big drop – but the sticks help us – we arrive at the point of view where we can admire Vernon, its collegiate church and its castle.
Then Xavier takes us into the forest, sheltered in a quarry where he explains the exploitation of the quarries and the stone of Vernon which was used to build many buildings, including the Notre Dame Bridge in Paris, the rosette of the Sistine Chapel … .
Despite the rain, what a pleasant hike!
Return to the CRJS at 5:30 pm to change.
6 pm Aperitif and dinner.
After the meal – Head to the banks of the Seine to watch the sunset. Missed! we arrived 10 minutes too late. But we did witness the nightfall on the Seine, against the backdrop of the mill and the turrets of the castle, and the quarry on the hill of Vernonnet. Magnificent!
Then night tour of Old Vernon.
It was a busy day.
On Sunday :
In the morning, choose:
Nordic sporty walk in Bizy forest with Xavier
GOLD
Visit the Monet Gardens in Giverny with SYLVIE.
– Picnic in common at Giverny.
Afternoon: 9 km hiking around Giverny.
Radical weather change: The hat and sunscreen are needed.
This time, it is Sylvie who leads the group, me and Xavier being “the wire clamps”. A good walk in the tops of Giverny with pretty paths full of flowers and pretty views of the countryside.
How beautiful is a sunny spring!
Then we go down on Giverny and Sylvie makes us discover the village of Giverny.
Bravo! Sylvie for this nice race.
Back to Drancy in the evening.
It was a beautiful WE, very enriching and warm, the participants appreciated.
Here is a message from 2 of the JAD participants:
“Many thanks to you for the excellence of this weekend and for the work done to make it so successful.
We laughed well, well-known, well-known, chatted by visiting this beautiful little piece of Normandy and each of your favorites, often in the image of its creator.
The mix of our two clubs was so much easier than expected that it was a real pleasure to rub shoulders with these other walkers of the 91 …
Hoping that one day soon we all together. Ariane and Eric.
