Back to Marseille Cassis with this report :
Saturday, October 28, 2017, 9 Nordic walkers of the Joan of Arc of Drancy participated in the famous hike of the “Other Marseille Cassis”.
Arrived the day before, we took advantage of this event to visit Marseille, its old port, Notre Dame de la Garde, then we went to get our package at the Palais des Congrès.
Of the 9 Jadistes, 3 have registered for the “difficult” hike of 21 kms. The 6 others, to those of the “easy” with its 17 kms, but … not so easy!
On Saturday, wake up at 5:30! to go to Lumilly at 7 am, at the edge of the creeks, where 1,700 participants gather.
We are ready for this adventure. We swapped our nordic walking sticks for hiking poles. It’s a little chilly at this time.
The group of “difficult” go first. We, we go in the last ones.
The route begins with a long climb. May nature be beautiful in the early morning! The mistral has kindly, this day, make an accalmi. The day before it was blowing at 100 km / h.
The day is now well up and the sun begins to heat us. We often stop to drink and watch the beautiful scenery.
The easy course, not so easy! Hey ! Yes, the feet of the Drancéens are not used to the fascination of the paths of the Calanques massif! We all had to meet at the Gardiole pass for the picnic, but at each one’s own pace, we found ourselves only in the evening to tell our story. The difficult course had sometimes very difficult passages.
But The 9-3 hikers stayed radiant throughout this event.
The landscapes crossed were sumptuous. Our JAD T-shirts have made an impact.
Sunday we went to sleep until 8am.
We continued our visit of Marseille. The Mistral resumed with gusts to more than 130 kms h. Difficult to stand on the cornice of Marseille! What luck we had on Saturday!
With images full of eyes and full of memories, we took again on Sunday evening the TGV,
Hey ! yes, there are some who work on Mondays (at least if he can).
It was a nice weekend fun with a challenge!
